The patient is a 72 year old woman who noted fullness of the upper eyelid and wrinkling of the lower lids. She had upper eyelid surgery and laser treatment to smooth out the wrinkles of the lower lids. She was quite happy with her cosmetic results and felt she looked younger and with good contours about both her upper and lower eyelids.
Removal of excess skin of the upper lid can increase the apparent distance between the upper lid edge and the brow so when this skin is removed, a space is created that separates the brow from the eyelid. This creates beauty because of the definition created. The laser treatment that was done to the lower lids removed almost all of her wrinkles. In general, laser treatment of the lower lids can remove 90% of wrinkles and the result is long lasting. Laser treatment of wrinkles can even remove deep wrinkles in this area.
