The patient is a 35 year old woman who noted wrinkles that had recently developed over the lower eyelids and on the outside of her eyes. She said that they became worse when squinching her eyelids but didn’t think she had excess skin and just wrinkling. The patient also noticed that, as her wrinkles had deepened, makeup application actually made her wrinkles appear worse and her makeup would crack after a few hours and especially in warm weather.

Botox worked when she was younger

The patient had had Botox treatment for her wrinkles when she was younger and that really helped her at that time but more recently noticed that Botox kept her from having a lot of muscle activity of the lids but her wrinkles were not any better with Botox. She wanted something now that would help with her wrinkles and that would be more long lasting where she wouldn’t constantly need to come back for Botox.

Laser Treatment for Wrinkles Before and After Photos

Her before and after photos demonstrate the effectiveness of laser treatment. Almost all of her wrinkles are gone in the treatment area and there is also evidence of skin tightening around the lids. Skin folding, wrinkles and looseness can detract from seeing the beauty of the eyes themselves. Skin tightening creates a sense of youth and smoothness and directs one to look rather at the eyes  to better appreciate the beauty of the eyes themselves.

The Right Amount of Plastic Surgery

This patient only had wrinkles about her eyelids but  no lower eyelid skin excess or fat bags. She also had no looseness of her facial skin. The best way to look natural with cosmetic surgery is to only have the “amount” of surgery necessary to solve the problem and nothing more. Facial cosmetic surgery,  and perhaps, all plastic surgery is not preventative and just treats the issues at hand. Therefore, treatment should be proportionate to the amount of aging and make correction to the greatest degree possible. When this idea is followed, patients can continue to look natural as they age. And as they age, patients can become candidates for other procedures and continue to reverse the effects of the aging process.
