Laser Treatment for Wrinkles
The patient is a 65 year old woman who noticed deep wrinkles about the lower eyelid and Crow’s Foot areas. She wanted something nonsurgical and knew that as an alternative she could have lower eyelid surgery. She opted for laser treatment for wrinkles.
Laser Treatment for Wrinkles Before and After
As can be seen from the patient’s before and after treatment photos, there was very significant improvement in wrinkling over the lower eyelid and the Crow’s foot areas. There has even been some “shrink effect” on the loose skin with improvement in skin folding. The patient was very gratified by the procedure and was happy she didn’t have to have eyelid surgery.
Types of Laser Treatments for Face
There are many different types of treatments for wrinkles of the face. The choice for treatment is based on location of the wrinkles, how deep they are, the cause of the wrinkles (muscle activity, for example) and skin type. Various alternatives include Botox for wrinkles, microdermabrasion for milder wrinkles, skin peels, different laser modalities and deeper peels. Ask your facial plastic surgeon which is best for you.
Laser Treatment for face Side Effects
The Carbon Dioxide Laser to treat moderate to deep wrinkles of the face is very safe and effective. Probably the only long term side effect of this treatment is depigmentation or lightening of the skin. This can be beneficial when using the laser to treat wrinkles around the eyelids because most patients have dark circles and the laser can lighten them. For laser treatment around the mouth, the edges of the lasered area can be feathered so as not to see an edge where the treatment was done.
